Assets, Cores, and Disk Space

Portfolio’s ability to deliver assets to your users depends on the resources available to it. In general, “more” and “faster” are desirable when describing server resources. We recommend the following, depending on the size of your catalogs:

Total Assets (All Catalogs) Maximum Users Processor Cores Disk R/W Access RAM Boot Drive Space Data Drive Free Space
< 50,000 3 4 60 MB/s 16 GB 100 GB 125 GB
< 500,000 5 4 180 MB/s 16 GB 100 GB 250 GB
< 1,000,000 10 8 250 MB/s 16 GB 150 GB 500 GB
< 5,000,000 25 12 250 MB/s 24 GB 500 GB 2.5 TB
< 10,000,000 50 24 250 MB/s 32 GB 1 TB 5 TB

The Data Drive space recommendations in this table do not include space for assets, including the Portfolio Vault. If you intend to use a Vault, you should have a very large directly-attached (internal) drive where you can locate it.

For assistance with complex integrations and migrations, contact your Extensis representative to discuss having a consultant complete your implementation and training.
