Extensis Announces Windows Version of Mask Pro 3 for Creation of Flawless, Real-Life Masks

Portland, Ore. — September 03, 2003 — Extensis today announced the release of Mask Pro 3 for Windows, a significant upgrade to Extensis’ award winning masking and selection tools for Adobe Photoshop. This latest release of Mask Pro gives users the ability to create flawless, real-life masks using advanced color matching and decontamination technology.

“We have had a large demand from our users for a Windows version of Mask Pro 3,” said Lisa McCormack, Mask Pro product manager for Extensis. “Extensis has always been committed to providing users of both platforms with the functionality they need to meet the demands of their work. The Windows version of Mask Pro 3 will have the same strong feature set as the Macintosh version ? providing all creative professionals with top-level masking technology.”

Mask Pro 3, a Photoshop plug-in, offers advanced color-matching and decontamination technology as well as innovative additions like the Blur, Chisel and Highlighter tools. These enhancements offer better control over edge transparency and background color spill, allowing for the creation of masks that composite flawlessly with other images.

Top Features in Mask Pro 3 Windows

  • Color Decontamination for improved edge transparency — This new feature greatly improves masking of semi-transparent objects like hair, smoke or glass without sacrificing the quality of the image.
  • Enhanced Touchup Tools and Controls — New blur and chisel tools provide users with powerful global and local control of mask edges.
  • Keep/Drop Highlighting — Easy-to-use highlighter tools let users quickly define areas to keep and drop from the image. Most advanced color-matching technology available — Improved color-matching technology creates masks based on keep/drop color areas generating the most accurate and color-correct masks.
  • Real-time preview — Unlike any other masking product on the market, Mask Pro 3 allows users to view results on the fly.
