What is Portfolio 8.0 Raw Filter 3.0?
Portfolio 8.0 Raw Filter 3.0 is a free update to Portfolio 8.0 for Macintosh and Windows platforms. It allows Portfolio to import, thumbnail, and preview more than 20 new camera Raw formats, bringing the total number of supported cameras to more than 80 models.
Does Portfolio 8.0 support my camera's Raw format?
Portfolio 8.0 supports a wide range of Raw file formats from digital cameras. For a complete list of models supported, refer to the Portfolio 8.0 File Format Support PDF for a list of supported formats and cameras. Extensis is continually working to add support for new cameras.
Can Portfolio 8.0 use metadata added by Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Bridge?
Portfolio 8.0 does not support the XMP sidecar files which Photoshop and Bridge use to store metadata for most Raw formats. For proper metadata exchange, we recommend using Adobe's DNG format, which allows for direct embedding of metadata into Raw files, as well as up-to-date preview images.
Does Portfolio automatically rotate my images?
Portfolio 8.0 will automatically rotate the thumbnail and preview images from JPEG files captured by digital cameras with built-in orientation sensors. Once a user installs the Raw 3.0 filter, it will do the same with most Raw formats.
I own an older version of Portfolio. Will the new Raw filter work for me?
No. It is designed specifically to work with Portfolio v8.0.
Is there an update available for Portfolio Server?
Yes, the Raw Filter 3.0 installer can be used to update Portfolio 8.0, Portfolio Client 8.0, and Portfolio Server 8.0.
