An Academy Award-Winning Visual Effects company with multiple offices in the US and London, The Mill needed a system to organize and share fonts between departments and locations. Experiencing problems with both shared access and reliability, they moved to Universal Type Server on the recommendation of their New York Office.
Frustrated by the inability to collect groups of fonts for output and overall lack of options, global advertising agency M+C Saatchi transitioned to Universal Type Server for its rich feature set. Mario Ruggiero, Senior IT Analyst at M+C Saatchi states: “A bonus feature in making the switch to the Extensis solution was Universal Type Servers’ support for Single Sign-On – something that all of the users have grown to really appreciate”.
Ranked by the Complete University Guide 2014 as the best specialist institution for Art Design, NUA needed a cost-effective solution to manage their font licenses. Initially, a free font management solution was deployed; however, NUA found it was not keeping adequate track of fonts, so they moved to Universal Type Server. Kirk Laws-Chapman, Resources Manager at NUA states: “Universal Type Server’s ability to offer protected system fonts, combined at the same time as allowing users to have personal workgroups, ensures that everything works as designed and the University can ensure that everyone has access to the purchased font collections.”
A design agency with offices all over the world, CBA Design recently made the switch to Universal Type Server for its simplicity. Davy Strozyk, IT Manager for CBA Design in Paris states: “We chose the Universal Type Server as it enables us not only to manage font use and reduce conflicts between clients, but also to simplify the search for our creative fonts. The ability to place keyword “tags” is very useful as we now know which fonts are used for each customer – meaning we do not use them when working for another client.”
