The list is intended to cite the most serious problems known. It is not an exhaustive list of all known problems. Suitcase XT - The Suitcase XT for QuarkXPress 4 & 5 is not compatible with any version of QuarkXPress lower than 4.0.3. - In some instances when the ÒEnable FontSync SupportÓ pref is checked, the Suitcase XT may indicate that a font is not an exact match when in fact it is. In these cases, Suitcase XT rates the font as a Ò17 out of 20Ó. Auto-Activation Plug-In for InDesign - If a document uses a large number of fonts, and FontSync is enabled in the plug-in configuration, document saving is slower. If this causes problems, disable FontSync by de-selecting "Enable FontSync Support" in the preferences dialog. FontSync is an Apple technology that identifies fonts more precisely than just by name. Manage System Fonts - When managing system fonts under Mac OS 10.3.x and using Fast User Switching, make sure that only one copy of Suitcase is running on your computer. If more than one instance is running, under two separate users, activation status refresh issues and system font behavior within Suitcase can occur. - This feature allows you to move fonts out of the system fonts folders, to allow Suitcase to manage them. The locations of any moved systems fonts are listed below. Type of System Font: System Fonts Original Location: /System/Library/Fonts/ New Location: /System/Library/Suitcase Fonts/ Type of System Font: Local Fonts Original Location: /Library/Fonts/ New Location: /Library/Suitcase Fonts/ Type of System Font: User Fonts Original Location: ~/Library/Fonts/ New Location: ~/Library/Suitcase Fonts/ Type of System Font: Classic Fonts Original Location: System Folder/Fonts/ New Location: System Folder/Suitcase Fonts/ FileVault Compatibility (Mac OS X 10.3.x) - For fonts located in your user directory, if FileVault is enabled or disabled after adding fonts to Suitcase, they will appear as missing if moved. If this occurs, simply re-link the fonts; any subsequent moves will be automatically detected, meaning the fonts will not be listed as missing again. Font Previews (Mac OS X 10.3.x) - If a font has been deactivated by Apple's FontBook, it may not preview inside Suitcase. If this problem is encountered, activate the font using Apple's FontBook and deactivate the font using Suitcase. Previews for the deactivated font will appear. _____________________________________ CONTACTING EXTENSIS To reach us for technical support or general questions please use the following method: Web/email: http://www.extensis.com/support/ If you have an annual service agreement, you are entitled to priority support.
