Suitcase Fusion combines the best of both leading font management solutions—Suitcase’s
ease of use and award-winning interface, and Font Reserve’s deep technology
like the Font Vault and Type Face Activation. We’ve also added a slew of
new industrial-level features, making Suitcase Fusion far-and-away the most advanced
font manager ever created.
Apple Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Compatible
Suitcase Fusion (v 12.1.7) is a fully compatible with Apples latest operating system Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
Universal Application
Suitcase Fusion (v 12.1.x) is a Universal Application, running natively on and providing
professional-level font management for both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macintosh systems.
Expanded auto-activation support
Using
Font Sense™, Suitcase Fusion offers precises font matching and professional level
font auto-activation in additional design and publishing applications, including:
If you are currently a Suitcase X1 or earlier user, Suitcase Fusion represents
an industrial-strength upgrade with a powerful new feature set “under
the hood,” providing more control, consistency and security but with the
same, familiar, award-winning Suitcase interface that you know and love.
Font Vault
While previous versions of Suitcase created a database of info about your fonts,
the fonts remained in their original location. You still have this option in
Suitcase Fusion but also have the option to consolidate your fonts in a structured
and secure repository called the Font Vault. The Font Vault gives users much
more control over their fonts, eliminating unnecessary font conflicts, duplicate
font issues and providing easy access to your own library of clean, optimized
fonts.
Typeface activation
Another benefit of the Font Vault is that it automatically splits up
font suitcases, allowing you to view, sort and activate (and auto-activate)
fonts on a typeface level. This deeper level of font management gives you more
control over your fonts, reduces potential font conflicts and saves you additional
time and system resources.
View PostScript names
You now have the option to view menu names or PostScript names for fonts, and
sort and organize your fonts based on these names.
Intelligent auto-activation

Suitcase Fusion uses
Font Sense™ (
check
out our white paper on Font Sense) —the most advanced font identification
technology available—to ensure that when a document is opened, the exact
versions of the fonts you need are
auto-activated every time. Font Sense uses
multiple criteria to identify a font, such as font type, foundry, version, etc.,
and “fingerprints” the font based on these criteria. Font Sense
is available in all popular publishing applications.
Unlimited nested sets

You can now create an unlimited number of nested sets to sort and arrange your
fonts to fit your workflow. This makes the job of finding and even archiving
fonts easier than ever.
Display custom font information

The familiar Suitcase interface now gives you even more options of what type
of font information you want to see and how you want it displayed. You can now
view a much deeper level of font information including version, classification,
font type, etc.
Customizable foundry and class information
In addition to Styles and Keywords, you can now sort, find and manage fonts
based on foundry or classification. Suitcase Fusion will automatically classify
fonts but will also let you create new classifications and re-classify fonts.
Duplicate font handling

Suitcase Fusion addresses one of the biggest sources of problems for creative
users—duplicate fonts. First, the Font Vault will catch any true duplicates
from being added. With those duplicates that have the same name but are not
true duplicates, Suitcase Fusion makes it easy to filter, view and manage them.
Additionally, you can use Suitcase Fusion’s preference settings to automatically
pick the best match in case of duplicates, allowing you to work uninterrupted
even when duplicate font issues arise.
Drag-and-drop font exporting
You can now export fonts, type faces, fonts in (nested) sets, font families,
even previews simply by dragging-and-dropping them.
Log file for font adding
Suitcase Fusion offers detailed, HTML reports of font adding activity. A new
log file is generated each time a user adds fonts and details are added to the
file as the add progresses.
Improved Find dialog
Suitcase Fusion gives you the power to perform multi-level searches for your
fonts. Choose from pull-down menus that offer the full range of Foundry, Style,
Classification and Keyword information about your font library.
New
for Font Reserve users:
If you are currently a Font Reserve 3.1 or earlier user, Suitcase Fusion will make it easier than ever before to view, organize, preview, find and sort your fonts. You will continue to get the deep level of information, control and reliability that you have become accustomed to as a Font Reserve user. But added industrial-strength features and multiple customizable options provide the hassle-free, flawless font management that Font Reserve users have been asking for.
Customizable, easy-to-use interface
Font Reserve users will notice the difference of a much friendlier and more
intuitive interface with a multitude of customizable views and options. You
can now hide or show the font, set and preview panes and customize the content
of the panes.
The Preview Pane

Customizable and interactive, Suitcase Fusion’s Preview Pane allows
you to select, activate, even export fonts directly from this pane.
QuickFind searching
A QuickFind search box stands ready at the top of the interface, allowing
you to quickly locate a font by name, keyword or style.
Font corruption checking and repair

Not only will Suitcase Fusion prevent corrupt fonts from being added to the
Font Vault, but it integrates Font Doctor’s industry-leading corruption
checking and repair technology to allow you to fix corruption issues and optimize
the fonts in the Fault Vault.
Font file support
Suitcase Fusion is the only font manager which is optimized to deal with legacy
fonts and customized font suitcases which can be problematic if they enter the
creative workflow unchecked. Suitcase Fusion optimizes font suitcases and repairs
problematic fonts when you add them to the Font Vault, increasing stability
when using applications like QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign or Illustrator that
may request legacy or customized fonts.

Log file for font adding
Suitcase Fusion offers detailed, HTML reports of font adding activity. A new
log file is generated each time a user adds fonts and details are added to the
file as the add progresses.
Keyword support
Suitcase Fusion gives you the option of adding keywords to your fonts and using
keywords to find your fonts fast. Keywords are custom descriptions that you
can add to fonts. You can add keywords to fonts that denote a project name,
client, owner or even perhaps a description that you feel more accurately describes
the font
Application sets
Suitcase Fusion allows you to create a special type of set called an Application
Set. Fonts in application sets are activated automatically whenever a particular
application is launched. This is useful if an application isn’t supported
by Suitcase’s automatic font activation.
